CFW Launch / Cutting Garden

To kick of Canadian Flowers Week, Toronto Flower Market vendors - Floralora Flowers, Wild Imagination Co, Sweet Gale Gardens, La Primavera Farms and Van Geest Bros are bringing crates of flowers for guests to cut their own bouquets directly from the dirt they were grown in. The event is free and flowers will be available from 12-2pm or until they are all picked. The event will include flower installations by Patchouli Design, Kenilworth Floral, Gunnar Floral, video projections by Bethany Puttkemery and Julia Monson and photography by Cristian Ordóñez

Vernon Farmers' Market

As a first year flower farmer, Early Bird Blooms has blossomed from seeds started in Janet's kitchen, to a full blown field of local, sustainably grown flowers. Find Janet every Thursday from July through to October at the Vernon Farmers' Market, as long as weather permits. Stop by her stall, September 13th to celebrate Canadian Flowers Week with a beautiful market bouquet featuring unique flowers and grasses.

Outdoor Flower Market and Floral Installation

Smart Flowers hosts an outdoor flower market with cut flower bunches using Saskatchewan grown blooms and BC grown flowers. The studio will feature a floral curtain of fresh flowers, branches hand picked and foraged by Poppy Parsons.

Kick off the Fall season with the annual Family Flowers Fall Festival. A scavenger hunt through the greenhouses, face painting, pumpkin carving, a vendor fair with local artisans and all things for your indoor and outdoor decorating: garden mums, straw bales, corn stalks, gourds, decor +more!

Salt Spring Island, British Columbia / Alchemy Farm / Check website for viewing times

Floral Installation / Sunflower Spiral

To celebrate Canadian Flower Week environmental artist, Ingrid Koivukangas, is creating a site specific installation at Alchemy Farm, a flower farm and eco teaching center. The Alchemy Sunflower Spiral is based on the Fibonacci spiral, a mathematical formula found throughout nature, and easily identifiable in the face of a sunflower. The installation is 130 to 140 feet in diameter and constructed from 8-10 foot tall Mammoth Sunflowers planted in the shape of a Fibonacci spiral. Viewers can walk into the spiral – similar to a maze – and experience standing amongst towering sunflowers. Ingrid, along with other guides, will be on hand to answer questions. Visitor will receive a packet of sunflower seeds to plant in their home garden the following year. Please check website for viewing times. Email Alchemy Farm to book a tour for large groups.

As part of Canadian Flowers Week, Prairie Girl Flowers will have a super cool and totally locally sourced selfie wall installed at their Flower Truck during the  Inglewood Night Market.  Visitors will be able to take photos with friends in front of the selfie wall - all in celebration of what is available locally in Alberta and B.C. at this time of year!

The Miss Philippa Savary Residency Paintings and Floral Installation

Celebrating the residency of painter Stephen Altena at the Elton House in Bath, a floral installation featuring fresh, locally grown blooms to compliment Altena's displayed paintings will be designed and built by Jessica Payne and Jessica Gale. Altena's art is inspired by the floral textiles, wallpaper and onsite gardens of Elton House. This event will be featured during Supercrawl, a Hamilton wide celebration of the arts.

Wildflowers for Wildfires

The Fraser Valley Slow Flowers Collective hosts an event to raise awareness about locally grown flowers, while raising money to support BC wildfire relief.  Hand tied bouquets of locally grown flowers will be available for purchase and all proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cross BC Fires Appeal.

Floral design shop Thorn and Thistle hosts a multi vendor market on their outdoor patio, including growers and florists offering locally grown cut flowers. Emphasis on seasonal bouquets provided by island growers including Ninebark Farms, Cartref Gardens, and Mt.Newton.

Come by and visit our piece! It is hosted by our sister farm, Cropthorne Farm. Certified organic produce and fresh cut flowers will be available at the farm stand too! The farm itself is closed to the public at this event.

Farm Tours / Petal Path

The Petal Path is a province-wide event where flower farms host tours for the public during the first annual Canada Flower Week (CFW). The Path is a partnership between Ecological Farmers of Ontario and CFW to share and educate about flower farming happening in Ontario. The Petal Path will occur simultaneously across the province where participating farms will host tours on the hour, 1 hour or less in length. In honour of the first annual Canadian Flowers Week, local florists at Bellaflora Design Studio and flower farmers at Stone Meadow Gardens will be collaborating to create a pop-up art installation made entirely from flowers grown and foraged in the Kootenays and BC. They invite everyone to enjoy, explore, and experience a visual celebration of the Canadian landscape, both domestic and wild, as it transitions across the country and through the seasons.

As an invited vendor for the Artisan Market at the Bridal Expo, Becky of Prairie Girl Flowers will showcase what a prairie girl wedding can look like.  Including only Alberta and BC grown blooms in her business, she will have a variety of foam free, slow flower décor options for brides to check out.  Plus, Becky will build a handmade floral selfie wall made out of locally grown dried and fresh flowers. May Flowers & Sideroad Farms have partnered up to create a stunning installation that is sure to turn heads on St. Clair West. With the opening of May Flower's Cafe, it will be a celebration of locally grown flowers, sustainable and fair-trade coffee, eco-friendly floristry and business, and more.  Artisan pop ups, music, snacks and refreshments, and a build-your-own flower bar.

Flower Mask Workshop

To celebrate the first ever Canadian Flowers Week, Posy Gang is going to literally smother participants in locally grown flowers. Allison from Posy Gang will show you how to transform a bucket of fresh, local blooms into a full-on floral mask. Then, after the creations are complete, it's time to PLAY.  Everyone will model in their own photo shoot. This workshop is for flower and art lovers looking to do something different. All tools and materials will be provided; all levels of skill are welcome. As Allison is both a floral designer and flower grower, floral product will include juicy blooms from the Posy Gang cutting garden itself. This workshop will be hosted at Bloom School, with a maximum of 10 participants. Tickets available on the Bloom School website for purchase.

In their third year of flower growing, Megan and Erik of Marshdale Farms, invite you to come visit their boutique flower farm! The Local Flower Collective Potluck & Flower Installation

Join The Local Flower Collective potluck and collaborative installation build at their studio!  The event is BYOF ( bring your own flowers ) though there will be beautiful flowers donated from our members. The Collective asks for donations of $5 for each person participating to go towards the growers that have donated their time and product. This potluck is also open to the public but still ask that participants bring blooms - be it from your backyard or weeds on your walk over.
